Position Description
Performs troubleshooting, repair, up-grading, and rework of iCADs Analog and Digital products that have either been returned from customers, or that require rework or upgrading as a result of ECO's (Engineering Change Orders). Interface with our Technical Support Engineers and the Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor to fully understand ECO implementation and technical reasons for return, in order to better troubleshoot the products. Assist Repair Technicians, as instructed by supervisor, in more complex troubleshooting, repair, upgrading and rework tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostics, testing, and evaluations on digital and analog sub-assemblies and finished products to determine the repairs that need to be made to returned products. Perform repairs, as required. Perform electrical, electro-mechanical, and software up-grades or reworks on products as a result of ECO's.
- Responsible for setting up, maintaining, updating and repairing test fixtures and circuitry.
- Help to plan and develop manufacturing processes.
- Assists in maximizing manufacturing efficiency by analyzing layout, workflow, and assembly and repair methods, and by making recommendations.
- Recommends tools, equipment and parts needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals.
- Assists in training contract manufacturers in iCAD assembly procedures. Assists contract manufacturer's in iCAD ECO implementation.
- May assist in generating ECOs, work instructions and procedures.
- Perform all record keeping and administrative task assigned by supervisor.
- Provide test and diagnostic data to other disciplines in the organization, as required.
- Performs all other job related duties.
Requirements
- Associates degree in Electrical Engineering required, bachelors a plus.
- A minimum of 2 years experience in an Electrical Engineering role in one or more of the following areas: manufacturing engineering, field service, sustaining engineering.
- Must be able to read and interpret schematics. Must be able to interpret and understand test data and perform measurements of various electronic properties using custom and standard electronic lab equipment.
- Knowledge of the use of standard electronic lab and diagnostic equipment including, but not limited to oscilloscopes, volt meters, multimeters, circuit testers, component testers, power analyzers, watt meters, etc.
- Must be proficient in MS Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of CAD applications desirable. General knowledge of MRP/ERP desirable.
- Previous experience in an ISO, medical device manufacturing operation desirable.
- Local travel 10%-20% (New England). Infrequent travel outside of New England may be required (1-4 times per year)
- Must have a good work ethic and a sense of urgency. Must be a team player and have good verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to interface effectively and professionally with other iCAD employees and iCAD suppliers
